On Sunday Nov 17 editor Jane Wilde hosted an event at the Orca Pub featuring readings from two latest Gumboot books: Gumboot Guys and Gumboots in the Straits. Readers/writers were Jamie Taylor, Colin Ritchie, Roger Purdy and Larry Hill. Linda Ash from Shoprite At Home: The Bookshelf, in Pt McNeil, was there selling various books in the series.
The Orca Inn provided an excellent lunch menu. The event was well attended--we had a full house! Many attendees commented on how great the event was and how they hoped for more similar events in the future. Plans are in the works.......
