This mighty peaty masterclass showdown will be guided by National Whisky consultant Stuart Brown and accompanied by a delicious traditional Scottish Dinner - as well music, dancing, poetry, and of course Haggis! Looking for last minute Christmas gifts?! Consider tickets to our Jan 25th Scotch Tasting and Robbie Burns Supper Celebrating Robbie Burns, Scotland’s favourite bard! This fun cultural evening combines traditional Scottish music, dance, poetry, a dinner buffet and of course a master class scotch tasting brought to us by seasoned National Whisky Consultant, Stuart Brown. Stuart will tell us the story of two outstanding peaty distillers, Talisker and Lagavulin, who will each compete for your discerning taste buds. There will be a delicious dinner including succulent beef brisket with neeps and tatties and of course haggis – finished off with some irresistible sticky toffee pudding. Doors open at 5pm. We woke up to some pretty snowscapes and a lot of shovelling this morning! A sure sign it should be a great winter for skiing so book early if you are a looking for a nice warm place to stay close to the ski hills. We are only 15 minutes from Mansfield, 30 minutes to Snow Valley, 40 Minutes to Devils Glen, 50 minutes to Mount St. Louis Moonstone, and 55 minutes to Blue Mountain. Plus there are many trails nearby for cross country skiing and snowshoeing. After a cold day on the slopes - come back and curl up by our wood burning fireplaces with a warm hot chocolate or enjoy a massage in our day spa!

Looking for an exclusive gourmet dinner experience? Book our 1920's era banquet hall for a private dinner with one of our talented caterers such as Chef Marcel, who was invited to serve Queen Elizabeth at the Queen's Plate as one of his many culinary achievements. An executive group recently enjoyed an overnight stay and spa getaway as well as one of Chef Marcel's delicious 5 course meals. The evening started with Sommelier chosen French wines, paired with an artistically assembled charcuterie board loaded with an international assortment of cheeses and cured meats. The second course was a coconut shrimp appetizer with a Yuzu coconut and black garlic sauce with a side of papaya slaw. A mixed berry sorbet palate cleanser bridged to the main course - a dry aged organic beef tenderloin wrapped in bacon with crab cakes, beets and other seasonal vegetables. For dessert - a homemade French apple tart with cream and goose berries. Afterwards, they enjoyed curated scotch drams by our wood burning fireplace and surrounded by the ambiance of all the holiday decorations. We are still basking in the warm Caribbean glow from Saturday's El Dorado Rum Tasting Dinner! This sold out evening was hosted by the always informative and animated ambassador, Trevor Burnett. Our guests were treated to 8 different sweet samples of rum accompanied by a delicious traditional Guyanese buffet feast by Chef Nuella from our local Flavor Kitchen restaurant. What an mouthwatering pairing of flavours: Spiced pepper pot stew, curry chick pea and goat, jerk chicken, topped off with coconut bread pudding with manjo sorbet and much more! If you missed out, make sure to visit Flavour Kitchen in Alliston or make an appointment at our Inn to do a private sampling of some of the rare El Dorado rums we now stock at our bar! We love hearing live music at our events and wanted to share a little sample of the sweet tunes by The Frank Adriano Quartet that were played at Valerie and Mike's wonderful wedding this summer. Thank you for choosing our historical country venue for your special day and the opportunity to meet all your family and friends. Happy Birthday Gerry! We host a lot of milestone events here, but it is not often that someone celebrates a 90th Birthday! In fact, the last time this happened was almost 60 years ago in 1965 when William J Wood celebrated his 90th in the very same banquet hall. Enjoying a long rich life is a truly a gift, and having seen his share rollercoster world events come and go, Gerry reminds us that the most important thing we can do is spend quality time making memories with those closest to us. Congratulations to Troy and Alisha who hosted their big, beautiful tent wedding reception with us back in July! It was an epic country summer event - the weather was perfect and our neighbour's surrounding potato fields in full bloom made for a very pretty and picturesque backdrop. The blend of classy decor and flowers mixed with rustic elements like a big old red tractor - perfectly matched the atmosphere of our 1833 estate. It was awesome getting to see so many local friends and family celebrating together under one big roof. Thank you again and we wish you all the best in your new chapter together!

Ambassador Trevor Burnett returns again to tell us about his Guyanese heritage and showcase El Dorado, one of the world’s oldest rum distilleries. Created on the banks of the Demerara river, the smooth and uniquely complex El Dorado aged-rums represent over 300 years of Caribbean rum crafting by continuing to use original wooden heritage stills. Happy 50th Birthday to our fabulous and talented co-owner and founder Susanne! Thank you for all you do to make Stevenson Inn and Harvest Spa such an amazing place. And if you are wondering why Susanne is playing a guitar in front of the - you will soon be able to watch her in a music video playing a beautiful song she wrote to help raise funds for the Memorial Hospital Foundation for the much needed expansion. We are so proud of you and may your next half a century be as just as special as you as are!

Our long history here is also shared with many special people, so it always makes us happy when we see some familiar faces from long ago! Shelly and Martin were married on a snowy December 27th in 2003 and returned recently for a stay over 20 years later! It was great catching up and we wish you again a Happy Belated Anniversary!
