"Travellers have so many choices when it comes to destinations, but a little pre-trip planning can have a big difference. Do your research, think about your intentions, and what your personal impact will be. Kayaking versus jet skiing offers a very different experience. Before you set out, ask questions like: am I supporting the local economy? Am I making a positive difference to the local environment and culture?"

Jill Doucette, founder and CEO of Synergy Enterprises, shares insights on new trends in the tourism industry and why there’s reason to be optimistic about a sustainable future for travel

If you didn't know that Fundy National Park and surrounds is a great place to see birds... Even more so in the summer!

🎉 Fundy’s 60th Christmas Bird Count (CBC) on December 20, 2024, was a great success!

A total of 47 observers recorded 784 birds from 47 different species in and around the park. 🐦🦅🦆

📊 Species diversity was near a record high!

⭐ The highest count remains 50 species, recorded in 2005.
⭐ In 60 years of counting, more than 45 species have been recorded on count day only five times!

🔎 Notable Observations:

🟢 First-ever Orange-crowned Warbler recorded in Alma.
🟢 Second-ever Carolina Wren found in Alma.
🟢 Canada Jay: While 365 Canada Jays have been recorded in Fundy’s CBC history, only five have been seen in the last 10 years.

🦉 Other Highlights: Winter Wren, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Northern Mockingbird, Black-backed Woodpecker, and Barred Owl.

🙏 A huge thank you to all the volunteers who contributed to another successful bird count!
