Community Christmas Dinner

Manitoba’s largest shelter operation is hosting a Christmas dinner for the community on Wednesday, December 21st. They plan on preparing over 1000 meal for their residents, partner organizations that don’t have kitchens and unsheltered persons in encampments and elsewhere on the street. SOURIS NOMINEES UP FOR 2023 TRIBUTE TO TOURISM AWARD

Souris Survivor Curling Bonspiel and The Souris Hotel of Souris, MB have been nominated for the 2023 Tribute to Tourism Awards. Tourism Westman hosts an annual Gala that recognizes and celebrates the exceptional individuals, businesses, organizations and communities within the Westman region that have made significant contributions to tourism development and promotion over the past year.

The Tribute to Tourism Awards will see awards being presented in nine categories; Aspiring Youth, Event of the Year (budget over 5k), Event of the Year (budget under 5k), Marketing Excellence, Partnership, Service Excellence, Volunteer of the Year, Indigenous Tourism and Resilience & Innovation. In addition to the regional recognition, all winners will also be nominated for the chance to advance to the Manitoba Tourism Awards hosted in Winnipeg.

27 nominations have been submitted for the 2023 Awards from communities including; Brandon, Minnedosa, Hamiota, Elkhorn, Carberry, Souris & Killarney. Award winners will be announced at the Tribute to Tourism Awards Gala being held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14th, 2023 at the Souris Glenwood Memorial Complex in Souris, MB. The evening will feature a lovely meal from Woodfire Deli, entertainment by Bethel Road Music and last but not least, the Awards Ceremony.
