These magical-religious designs, often featuring intricate geometric patterns or vivid depictions of animals and deities, are believed to impart powers of luck, protection, fortune, and charisma.

Today, Sak Yant tattoos are still applied using a traditional khem (needle), but with disposable needle tips to ensure hygiene. For those new to the world of tattoos, it’s recommended to start with simpler designs such as the well-known Hah Taew (Five-Line Yant) or Gao Yord (Nine-Spire Yant) to ease into the experience.

Gaeng Kua Bai Cha Kaam
Gaeng Kua can be traced back over 200 years. This terracotta curry is a beloved dish, but one that has become increasingly difficult to find in the modern age. At Chon, we prepare ours with Bai Cha Kaam (sea blite leaves), a naturally salty leaf that tastes almost like seaweed, along with deep-fried fluffy sea bass and pen shell clams, creating a mind-blowing mix of textures.
